Brady ball deflation

You can't tell me that a professional like Tom Brady, who has handled a football thousands of times over his career, could not tell the difference in the inflation pressure between 13 and 11 p.s.i. That's 15 percent. He could do it with his eyes closed. He's a cheater, no doubt.

Butchered trees

Congratulations to R. Joe Sullivan for a wonderful commentary piece again. This time he really gave voice to my feelings, as I drove around Cape looking at how the AmerenUE people have butchered our trees, especially in the junior high area. They look like some movie about the aftermath of a radioactive war and what it does to plants. One almost expects deformed, hunch-backed people to come crawling out from behind the trunks. It's disgusting. What in the world? I've never seen a city do this to its trees. The utility lines are tremendously ugly. Bury those blasted things. We're giving you enough money to do it, aren't we? Please don't turn our city into a laughingstock.

Parked truck

I wonder how long the police are going to ignore the cable truck parked on a narrow street in the Koch and Brink subdivision. There's going to be a very bad wreck. It is just not good. It has been like that for about a year. And there is a big, long driveway there that he can park in. Something needs to be done immediately.

Police driving

I was just driving down William Street at about 11:30 on Saturday, May 9. And a police officer with a license plate, cop car No. 6, was in the lane next to me. I was going just under the speed limit and all of a sudden, without putting his blinker on or doing anything else, he cut over right in front of me and took my lane. I slammed on my breaks. He never signaled. He just pulled over. He wasn't pursuing anyone. My 15-year-old son was in the car. How impressed do you think he was by the police and how much respect do you think he has for their authority? I can tell you right now, he was not impressed, and neither was I.

Rescue the unborn

The commercial pleads with us to hear the cries of the abused animals and rescue them. I got one better. Hear the cries of those unborn babies being slaughtered in the name of abortion. Rescue them.
