I see where Al Sharpton is out here telling these people that "we're going to rebuild Baltimore, and we're going to rebuild Ferguson." Can someone please tell Al that they burned down Baltimore more than 50 years ago and did not rebuild back. They're not going to rebuild back Baltimore. Just like Ferguson. Here it's been eight months. Not one building. They keep talking about having a training center. What are they going to train people to do? Because those businesses are gone...

Rebuild what?

Think bigger

We need to use our imagination in building a new sports complex. I think it should be built underground so that all sporting and other activities could take place year 'round; i.e., slow pitch softball. In addition, the complex could be complemented with a variety of avant-garde eateries, shops and so forth, creating an underground Cape that will become the envy of the world and attract millions of tourists annually. Who knows where it will end but even though I'm not an engineer, I think a good starting point for construction would be South Sprigg's sinkhole.

Patience, Jensen

Mike Jensen's omnipresent manifestos on the problem of race relations have evolved to the point that he seems to be begging for a solution. OK, here it is: Although progress has been made in eliminating de jure (legal) segregation, de facto (cultural) segregation still lingers. However, intermarriage between races (there really is no pure race) and ethnic groups will eventually end the problem, a trend already well underway, and the world will be as one.

Street care

Instead of the Jackson street department building flower plots on Barton Square, they would be better off taking care of potholes on East Main between Bellevue and Shawnee Boulevard, or repainting the lines on the streets, or picking up the gravel that's no longer needed, seeing as we don't have any ice anymore.
