Trump logic

Donald Trump found out the hard way what articulating a logical conclusion to the pro-life position leads to. It caused him to change his position, thus exposing The Donald as evolving into the worst thing ever -- a politician.

Verbally berserk

David Limbaugh has gone verbally berserk in condemning our establishment of relations with communist Cuba. Can you imagine what revulsion Limbaugh must have experienced when Ronald Reagan initiated a relationship with the now-defunct but then-totalitarian communist dictatorial Soviet Union?

Fuel tax

The Missouri Senate has agreed on a plan to raise the state's fuel tax by nearly six cents per gallon to pay for road and bridge projects. Yes, let the middle class and poor pay the price as they are the ones that buys gas to go to work or pays the cost for goods to be delivered. The 1 percent buys their gas in other states as they travel more and vacation more.

Scam warning

Well, look out. It's that time of the year again for scam calls about being sued by the IRS. If you had your taxes filled out by professionals and taken care of, I see no need to be sued. The calls come through as a private call, and they'll never leave a message. Don't these stupid fools know that people have caller ID and won't answer the phone?

Job opportunities

When will the people on the south end of town receive more job opportunities in their neighborhood/community?

Tongue in cheek

It must be tortuous for tell it like it is columnist Mike Jensen to commit to print such absurdities to the effect that even with all his faults Donald Trump is a better choice for president than Hillary Clinton. I'm personally cutting Mike some slack on this and choose to believe he is publishing such pap with his tongue firmly implanted in his cheek.

No good option

I have never been a Donald Trump supporter and recent information has made my feelings even stronger. When he was asked if he did something wrong, would he ask God for insight and help, his answer was no, he would fix it himself. I just read were he has back-tracked on his commitment to not run as a third party. We have seen this type of arrogance and lies the past seven years in the White House. We don't need any more of it! On the November ballot, can they put a selection that says "none of the above", because Hillary is just as bad!

Better roads needed

It is time for investigative journalism. Please research and explain to us why the concrete streets break and have potholes in Cape Girardeau. The concrete streets in Sikeston, Missouri, last much longer. Maybe it is because they have fewer hills and sandy soil, but we need to do something better for our streets here in Cape Girardeau.
