JOE Sullivan, since you were born in that valley over yonder, surely you remember how tasty fried young squirrels are.
WITH bristles standing high on our backs, we growled and barked, "North Korea, don't you launch that missile." Then China jerked our chain and said, "Now you must show restraint." Then we ducked our head, tucked our tail and laid down in the shade. I haven't seen anything like this since Russia told us to show restraint in dealing with Iran. If we can't or won't back up our demands, then we need to stay in the shade. Paper tigers can become pinatas.
I cannot believe that our city and state leaders are going to sit by and let Chicago politicians into our town by bidding and perhaps getting our license bureau. Surely somebody with some common sense is going to stand up and say we don't want Chicago politicians in our town.
IS anyone else upset that the state is holding our tax refunds because it doesn't have the money to pay us? What happens when my bill comes due? Am I allowed to say, "I'm sorry, I don't have the money. I'll have to delay my check"? What's happening to our government? What's happening to the American people who don't speak up? I called my representative. I think you should do the same.
I want to thank Cheryl Wittenhouer of the Associated Press. She wrote an article on the puppy mill. She must have taken a lot of time to prepare this. Maybe people will be more aware of this. I feel so sorry for these animals that get dropped off.
The work on Independence Street is about over. Hallelujah!
