So State Sen. Wallingford wants to fight back against the REAL ID act. His main contention based on the news story is that he doesn't think the government should force Missouri to keep databases of Birth and Marriage records? But don't we already Senator? Am I supposed to be scared that the Federal Government has access to when I was born but not scared if Missouri already knows that? Why should I trust the Government of Missouri to hold onto this information? Am I going to have a passport just so I can visit my military son on his base?
This is a plea to the fans who go out to watch the SEMO baseball games. I work overtime the week of games and take off early so that I can pick up my elderly father, a lifelong avid fan, and take him to the games. He is suffering from various ailments, including cancer, and at 92, attending those games is one of the few bright spots in his week every Spring. We always get there early and park along the first-base line; because he is wheelchair bound and gets sick easily, we sit in my car when the weather is still chilly. Inevitably, people will come stand directly in front of the car, completely blocking my father's view. Please, if you're going to be up there on the hill, take a lawn chair so you can sit down and people can see above your head; if not, move over so that you aren't blocking the view of people who must watch the game from their cars.
