I don't know what all the flurry is about the Daylight Saving Time now. We've had it for years. Yes, I understand people getting up in the dark, but think of all the light that you have at the end of the day to do more things and to enjoy after you get off work and after the kids get out of school. I say, keep it. It's a good thing. I look forward to it every year.
The caller in the Speak Out about the safety barrier down south interstate there, from down in the Bootheel of Missouri all the way up toward Ste. Genevieve there, they ran a fiber optic line down the center of the road there back in the early '90s for all this electronic stuff we have nowadays. They ran a great big cable down through there. And they said that's why they couldn't go out there and dig holes and bury the concrete there in the center of the median for the safety barrier, because they have that fiber optic cable buried.
I want to thank the Jackson Indians basketball teams for a great season. I think they've done a splendid job. We're, of course, disappointed that they couldn't make it to state, and I know they are, too. But hang in there, boys. It'll be another year. We'll have another go at it. You don't need to hang your heads. You did a good job.
Has our president absolutely lost his mind? Now he's wanting mandatory voting. That should be a right. I don't know what in the world is in his head. He's hateful to Netanyahu. He doesn't like him. Well, big deal. Who cares if he likes him? But they are our ally. And they are God's chosen people. And he better get his act together, or we're going to be so far down the toilet we will never get out. I'll be so thankful when his term is up. And we better get somebody who's totally different from him in there, or we are doomed.
To the persons stealing pre-election signs in Scott City: Trust me, the eyes are upon you. There will be consequences for your actions.
Please vote YES. The failure to pass the rollback proposal for the Nell Holcomb School District would jeopardize an institution that is an integral part of our area's praiseworthy educational performance.
As her consistently well-written Southeast Missourian articles consistently illustrate, Kathryn Webster is a wonderful wordsmith.
OK, this is the fourth submission regarding the tax that is being charged on your 1040 tax return if you received help in paying your premium on the Obama health care. If you made more, there is a tax. If you have a dependent that was not covered under your policy, there is a tax. Funny there is nothing on the news or in your paper regarding this and any accountant can tell you it is scary the amount of the tax that is being added.
Representative Swan, the time for subsidizing movies made in Missouri has come and gone.
I guess I'm going to have to hold off. Just when I was getting ready to formally recognize you for being the best newspaper in the country for the reinforcing confirmation biases, along comes a Speak Out caller and criticizes you for publishing allegedly radical liberal Associated Press stories.
