YOU ARE right. Such behavior as the Patrick's Cleaners vandalism should not be tolerated by law-abiding citizens and does defy explanation, just like our law-abiding citizens should not tolerate the desecration of our White House by Clinton and Gore. That also defies explanation, and it sets a terrible example of vandalism for our country's youth. It takes a distorted mind to damage the presidency of our great country. This is the greatest and most vital instance when the public should be remembering this administration's distorted vandalism of the highest office of our land. We desperately need a new president who will honor and have the integrity to lead America back to respect to the world and America. George W. Bush will do that.
IF THE Democrats are so secure that they think that Al Gore is going to win, then why isn't Richard Gephardt running around Missouri supporting Al Gore? Is there something more behind it? Or is it because he would have to explain himself as to why he backs Gore and what he thinks about Gore's flip-flop -- and he is not even in office yet?
VOTE YES for Proposition A. I have watched the billboard industry's attack on Proposition A. They say Proposition A will hurt tourism. Do the tourists come to Missouri to see scenery or billboards? They say it will hurt small business. This is ridiculous. Small business has many other media to advertise in. They say it will cost millions. This is a scare tactic. Legal opinions say it will not cost the taxpayers anything. On a recent trip from Cape to Sikeston, I counted 204 billboards. Don't we have enough?
I WOULD like to ask a question of the Democrats. How would Al Gore see the gun law if he were president right now? How would his law about hand guns have worked here in Cape? We had a shooting in Indian Park. How would that have happened if you actually believe the lie Gore is telling you.
THIS VOTING for a dead man is ludicrous. We all liked Governor Carnahan, but he is dead. Nothing can change that. This is a Democrat ploy to get a Democrat in. It should be against the law.
I AM so disappointed in the Southeast Missourian. I always voted Republican, but Peter Kinder and David Limbaugh have changed my mind. I will finally vote Democrat. I honestly believe Bush is not ready to be president. He seems so unprepared to hold this office. I admire the vice presidential candidates and wish they were running for president.
THIS IS in response to the caller who said the Jews should get out of Israel. God promised the Jews that he would restore them to their land in the last days. Jerusalem is where Jesus Christ will rule when he returns. Many countries will try to wipe the Jews off the map, but God will protect them. I remember the Six Day War of 1967 when Egypt, Palestine, Jordan and Syria attacked Israel, and God was with Israel. All this trouble in Israel is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. It is time for all those who don't believe in God to repent and accept Jesus. This is my prayer.
A RECENT editorial of the Southeast Missourian states risk takers deserve credit for the surplus. I agree to a point. But there is no mention of where these people were hiding during the 12 years of Reagan and Bush.
