Ready to criticize

I AGREE that Al Gore would have been president if it wasn't for Ralph Nader in the race. Ross Perot put Bill Clinton in office in the first four years. If George W. Bush is an adulterer, a womanizer and lies under oath, I think he will be criticized by the public and his own party, which only a few Democrats were willing to do with their president.

In it for the money

I COULD not believe the Cape County Democratic Committee endorsed someone for the office of coroner who has no experience and who is only in it for the money. Apparently the committee does not know how important this office is to the community. It takes someone with experience, knowledge and compassion. It takes someone who will work well with the law enforcement and local emergency agencies, someone who is dedicated and committed to serving the citizens of Cape, not someone who is just in it for the money. Cape County citizens deserve better. In the day and age where everybody is lawsuit happy, you better have someone who knows what he's doing.

Hey, it's cold out here

I CAN'T stand much more of this global warming. I'm freezing to death.

No basis for lawsuit

AN ASSOCIATED Press story states that the National Transportation Safety Board has yet to determine the cause of the crash of the Carnahan plane. Yet Jean Carnahan has already filed suit against the manufacturer of instruments aboard the plane. There's absolutely no information upon which to base her lawsuit. Is this the type of person that Missourians want to serve as U.S. senator?

Death-penalty protesters

THE DEMOCRATS against the death penalty are planning a march in protest at the Bush inauguration on Jan. 20. The same people who support killing children by abortion don't mind sparing the life of murderers who have tortured, raped and killed innocent children and anyone in their way. These protesters should be locked in the cell with some of these murderers. Would you ever hear a protester screaming and begging to get them out then?

Handicapped spaces

I THINK somebody should start cleaning the handicapped parking spaces at Doctor's Park so that the handicapped people can get in to the doctor's office.

More lies as usual

THE LEGACY of Bill Clinton will be his character in office. But I bet in his library they are building to praise him, there will be no reference to sex phone calls, oral sex in the White House, gifts, cigars, deception, lies or adultery. No, his legacy will be more lies as usual.

Proud of Ashcroft

I AM very pleased to see John Ashcroft as our new attorney general. He is a moral and decent man and such a positive contrast to the moral problems the Clinton and Gore administration has continually had. Janet Reno has made America a laughingstock. And Clinton and Gore have trampled the law in this country. If you want to know what kind of leader George W. Bush will be, just look at the people surrounding him. Missouri can be very proud. There is hope for this country.

Worst fears

MY WORST fears have been realized. John Ashcroft has been nominated for attorney general. Prepare for a right-wing reign of terror.
