Obey dog laws

GOD, PLEASE save our children and our grandchildren. There are so many bad things happening in the world, like dogs mauling children. What happened to the dog laws? We keep our dog up. Everybody should follow the rules or keep their dogs inside. So let's pray now and maybe it won't get worse.

Great performance

WHAT A magnificent performance by the music department of Schultz school. The large band, orchestra and chorus did a fantastic job, as did their instructors. Not only did they play and sing very well, but all were dressed so nice. How encouraging to see these hundreds of kids doing such a good job. I also applaud the young man who walked after school from Schultz to Central High School's auditorium in order to be there for the performance. On the downside, were the two or three thoughtless parents who let their small children run wild, even to the point of climbing on the risers during the performance.

Why conservatives?

I'M READING the letter to the editor about free trade and corporate power. The writer indicates conservatives support the consolidation of corporations, I've never seen where any politician has done much complaining about this, whether conservative or liberal. I can't imagine why he selected conservatives to be at fault on this.

Thanks for billfold

I WANT to thank the person who found my billfold in the cart in the parking lot at Wal-Mart April 2. I appreciate your honesty. I'm sorry I've taken so long to call and thank you for this, but you'll never know how relieved I was and how blessed I felt that someone had turned all that in for me. Everything I had was in that billfold. I do appreciate it. Thank you.

Campaign lies

I'D LIKE To comment on the House ethics law making it a crime if you get caught lying in political ads. Would this also apply to commercials such as the ones they ran against Republicans, like the Democrats did, when they said if you voted for a Republican, you support another black church burning, or you support old people being thrown out on the street. Does this law apply to that? Because that's exactly what the Democrats did.

Put it to rest

BOB KERREY did all this retrospective thinking about killing civilians. I'll bet if you could find out, there'd be more soldiers killed by civilians than civilians killed by soldiers. This is a ridiculous thing to revisit. It's nothing but a news media hype. It ought to be put to rest.

Displaying his faith

WHEN I pulled in to a parking space at the Holiday Inn, I parked next to a highway patrol car. As I exited my car, I noticed a laminated piece of paper on his dashboard. It told me a great deal of that highway patrolman. The simple message was very clear: the laminated piece of paper said: "Remember, you're working for God." How many of us should post that message where we work? It's a very simple message, but we need to share it. I was very touched and appreciative of this highway patrolman for this show of faith.

They want profit

GAS PRICES are going up because the oil companies want to make more money. Statistics show that their profit is up 60 percent-plus, so they're making more money. They're using the reasons the paper printed as excuses to raise prices. We shouldn't be fooled. People, don't be so gullible to their lies.

Great Dylan show

I WANT to thank the Show Me Center for the terrific show with Bob Dylan. He was absolutely awesome, and he really rocked. Anyone who missed it missed a great show. Please bring more performers of this caliber to the Show Me Center. We love it.
