In 2004 we here in Missouri passed a constitutional amendment that said marriage was between one man and one woman. The governor, when he took office, swore to uphold the law. I don't know if you all know it, but he's in violation of that law. He's being sued right now because he has said some people who are same sex couples can file a joint return. Gov. and tax returns

That is in strict violation of Missouri law.

Economic equality

We have a president who bases his State of the Union address around economic equality, and he takes vacations with extended family members that cost the taxpayers millions of dollars and his wife has more personal assistants than any first lady in history and he talks about income equality. Is he for real? This guy should be laughed out of office. Please, Barack, go back to Chicago!

Eight years late

Unfortunately, I couldn't bear to watch the State of the Union address with the way that our country is in, the state of it. My biggest complaint with President Obama is, before he came into office, he said he would put an end to this war right away. Our troops would come home immediately. Here we are, almost eight years later, and now he's standing up and saying proudly that the troops are coming back from Afghanistan and Iran now. It's eight years later. You failed on your promise, President Obama. We expected you to get them home eight years ago, not right before you leave office.

Country vs. rap

Now you know why we prefer country music concerts in Cape rather than rap, as in the news where the man is wanted on felony charges for shooting into the crowd at this rap concert. Country all the way. The worst that can happen is a beer down your back.

Energy idea

I would like to make a comment about the electricity. If the city of Cape really wants to cut down on their electric bill, why not take two or three empty barges and sit it either north of Cape or on the south side of the Mississippi floodwall and put turbines on the left side of the barges? So that way the river continues to turn the turbines and have beams on them, so that when the river rises, the barges will rise. You'd have continuous energy. You don't have to worry about rain or shine. Sounds a lot smarter than those stupid solar panels. By the way, people can probably throw rocks and bust them.

President interview

I wanted to watch the pregame show of the Super Bowl. But it seems that Obama needs some free television time. Or is he paying as much as anybody else is?
