IF you go out to eat, you should get good service. I waited 45 minutes at a restaurant and never got my food. When I decided to leave, they still made me pay for my soda, and I barely drank any of it. If I am spending my hard-earned money, I should get good service. Snow make up days

PEOPLE in Cape Girardeau are complaining about the school board taking spring break days to make up snow days. That is the chance you take when you plan trips in advance. They also should know weather around here can change at any time. So why complain?

Third party?

DOES anybody else find it nauseating listening to our conservative pundits on TV making excuses as to why Republicans will not touch items like Social Security? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we elect them to do just that? We are $14.5 trillion in debt. If the Republicans are too spineless not to do anything about it, maybe it's time for a conservative third party.

Change planning

THE person who thinks Cape Girardeau schools should add snow days on to the end of the year justified that plan by saying that people who make plans for the spring break have to cancel their plans. Well, so do those people who make plans for the week after school is out. If you want to be absolutely sure you won't have to make a change in plans, don't schedule your vacation for either the break or the week immediately after school gets out for the summer. Use some common sense and stop expecting everyone else to schedule around your plans.

Too much taxation

IF the cigarette tax was voted down four years ago, why did cartons of cigarettes go up $7 each? What was that called? You politicians are going to keep taxing us to where we will never get out of this recession. It's the same as grocery companies shrinking the size of their products and charging more.
