CAPAHA Park is not the place for a museum. It should remain a fun spot, whether a splash pad is put there or an ice-skating rink. I think something needs to be done in Cape Girardeau about the dogs. People walk their dogs without leashes. It's a city ordinance that they be leashed up. I have witnessed two dog attacks this week alone, and a lot of people I've talked to, especially seniors, are getting afraid to walk in their own surroundings because of dogs...
No museum
CAPAHA Park is not the place for a museum. It should remain a fun spot, whether a splash pad is put there or an ice-skating rink.
Leash dogs
I think something needs to be done in Cape Girardeau about the dogs. People walk their dogs without leashes. It's a city ordinance that they be leashed up. I have witnessed two dog attacks this week alone, and a lot of people I've talked to, especially seniors, are getting afraid to walk in their own surroundings because of dogs.
Hiring practices
I read a story about companies not hiring people who are unemployed for more than six months, even though they probably had been looking for jobs. I hope they make these practices illegal soon. There is no reason to punish people for things outside their control.

'A little broadening'
IN response to 'Undermining the president.' This person said that those of us in this area of the country need "a little broadening." I think we got enough of that with the Clinton administration.
Vet benefits
If you have an illness that is combat-related, you should be compensated. If you are applying for the benefits to promote your income, you should not. Look closely at the warriors who have arms and legs missing. These are the men and women who need the benefits.
Teacher bullying
I sure hope that Wisconsin Gov. Walker is not bullied into changing his proposed budget cuts. Maybe the increase in bullying in schools is caused by these union teachers.
