Presidents

The American Political Science Association has ranked the greatest presidents of all time. Lincoln and Washington are one and two. I think the one who came in 8th deserves to be higher but that's just been my opinion. Where do you think the APSA should have ranked in Bill Clinton?

Dragoni

Jack Dragoni's column is by far the best, because it is the most non-partisan to appear on the Opinion page of the Southeast Missourian. In fact, it is the only one. Congratulations, Mr. Dragoni, for abstaining from seeing everything through a rigid ideological lens.

Public school

I wish private sector employers would be as aggressive in firing incompetent employees as public schools. According to a recent study, public schools terminate 2 percent of their teachers and administrators while private sector employers show the door to only about 0.2 percent of their failures. We would all be better served in this regard if the private sector adopted the public school model.
