Thanks for breakfast

RECENTLY five of us went to a restaurant for breakfast to celebrate a birthday. When we started to pay our bill, the cashier said a man was paying our bill. We would like to thank him. We have no idea what his name is.

Scare tactics

I see Barack Obama as the new age of reason in America. It's the Republicans who have used fear tactics. Now they can no longer do this. Americans are seeing past this. We don't need these scare tactics.

Makeup days

CAPE Girardeau School Board, stop adding makeup days to the end of the school year. Take Presidents Day away. Take spring break days away. After May 20, we have play day, talent shows, assembly days, extra recesses. Get it together.

Proud of sheriff

I want to express my gratitude to Rick Walter, sheriff of Scott County. I'm so proud of him that he didn't let that boy stay in jail. If it hadn't been for him, he'd still be in jail.

Plenty of dogs

Why are so many dogs running around? Our neighborhood has several. If I knew where they belonged, I'd contact the owners. Help!
