I appreciate all the cabs that we have now, but how about having a cab that is a "normal" car? I'm in my 70s and it is very difficult when I have to climb Mount Everest to get into our present cabs. It's even trickier and more dangerous trying to get down and out. I've had an accident during that procedure. I realize we have handicap cabs, but some of us are not really handicapped. Maybe a cane is necessary, but other than that we are mobile. Surely the city can provide that.
FOR the runners and bikers on the roads: I respect your right to be there and am glad to make room for you, but please wear light-colored clothing, use headlights or reflectors, anything to draw attention to yourself. So many times I've come upon runners in dark clothing at dusk or dawn when it's hardest to see them. Or bikers with no lights on. A driver's focus is on other automobile traffic, and it's easy to simply not see you. Please, for your sake and mine, make yourself as visible as possible.
WITH some of the comments being made by those opposed to urban deer hunting, it's hard to tell if you're being serious or not. Either way, you're not helping your stance much. You're showing a complete lack of knowledge in the habits, biology and lives of the whitetail deer. And in the experience needed in the art of ethical hunting with a bow.
I just couldn't help but agree with whoever called in about the Bend Road, you know North Main light, 177. That is some of the roughest road to be brand new and I think it takes the prize for taking so long to do such a small section of pavement. I feel sorry for the taxpayers of Cape Girardeau.
I'D just like to say that the people who buy flowers for their sweethearts on Valentine's Day need to be sure that they are in a paper sack or that they are covered with plastic or something because they will freeze if it is very cool outside. They take them out of the warm stores and the stores don't always offer to put them in a bag for you. So, you be sure you ask for a bag to cover your flowers or they are going to be dead the next day.
I sure hope that the Republican people who meet in the caucus will pay attention to how the citizens actually voted and not decide that they have a better idea.
Peace on Earth
WHEN there is no evil in man's affairs, that's when there will be peace on Earth.
