** Permits to come
I want to comment where you have to get a right to carry to have a gun, despite what the Second Amendment says. We have a right to bear arms. How long will it be before we have to have a permit for the freedom of speech, a permit for the freedom of religion, a freedom to remain silent? We will all have to get special permits for that. After all, the right to bear arms is a constitutional right. These others are supposed to be constitutional rights. Will we have to get permits for these?
** Legislate morality
I am told we cannot legislate morality, but we seem to be doing a bang up job of legislating immorality.
** Rate increase
I changed the CSL light bulb, got a storm door, covered my outlets with covers, have blinds and curtains on all my windows. In the winter, my thermostat is at 60 at night and 68 in the (day time). And I change my filter when it gets dirty. Seven years ago, my electric bill was $100 cheaper. Our bills from Ameren are wasteful with the extra ink and paper and computer use comparing our rates from a year ago. And what about the envelope they enclose now? They are thrown away by customers who pay Online or in person. Please, public commissioners, could you actually prove to the public you're representing the public and not AmerenUE Company and deny their rate increase?
** Williams, Hillary
Brian Williams said he was in a helicopter that took on RPG. And they investigated and found all kinds of stuff wrong with the story. But when it came to Hillary Clinton claiming that she went and took sniper fire overseas, there's not even a story done on it.

** Seniors, high price
Another thank you to Mr. Obama and Obamacare. I got my utility bill this month. It was much higher. We got a little raise on our Social Security this year, but Obamacare insurance, utilities and food prices have more than eaten up the increase that we got. I also got another blast today, when I got a prescription filled, and I was told medical prices had gone up since the first of the year. For all of you people who voted for Obama, I hope now that you're happy, because he's taking it out on us senior citizens and not helping anyone else.
** Media influence
Yes, to me the news media has lost its credibility when Bill Clinton got in there. Especially when Rush Limbaugh got on the radio show back in the early '80s and was actually telling the things that were going on. Remember: "I did not have sex with that woman?" Then the news media had to get up and explain what is sex and what isn't. That was a very funny time for people trying to explain to their children.
** Altenburg-Frohna
The controversy over the two little towns joining and picking a name. Instead of giving up either one of them, which nobody would want to do, they should hyphenate it, and let it be Altenburg-Frohna or Frohna-Altenburg. Of course, they may argue about which one's first, but at least it would keep them both there.
** Southeast president
I'm calling about the four candidates for president of Southeast Missouri State University. I noticed all four of them are from somewhere out of our region. We can't find anybody in our region qualified to be president of that university? If we can't, we're not educating somebody right.
