You guys are getting on to Obama for everything he does. He does things Republicans do and you've never said a word about it. Bush in his eight years did things far worse than Obama did. When the next president comes in and does things exactly like Obama does, I'm going to call Speak Out and remind each and every one of you what you did. You complained about Obama doing things, the same things or less than what Obama did.
The Cape Girardeau County Commission acted on a couple of important matters recently. One is to charge a fee to reserve picnic shelters at the park and the other is to charge those of us who display Christmas lights at the north park. Why didn't they request input from us as hardworking Cape Girardeau County taxpayers? They've bitten the hand that feeds them.
I wonder if President Obama is totally incogitant of what's going on in the world. He's talking about always wanting to borrow more money, yet he takes these plane trips with his crew everywhere he goes and that takes millions of dollars every time he goes somewhere, and nobody says anything about this and he doesn't act like it costs any money. I don't understand how someone has gotten in his position and has so little thought of understanding reality. He's not connected to reality at all.
Considering the case of Rep. Giffords, the one who was shot, the shooter was nervous and slow about reloading his gun. If he only had a 10-round clip, another life would have been saved. I think 10 rounds for an automatic weapon is plenty. Our home doesn't have any automatic guns; we don't need them. We have rifles and a shotgun that haven't been fired in 20 years.
I had an operation and am in a neck brace. I got out of my car at the mall and stumbled onto the curb and lost my balance and fell onto to the sidewalk. A young man came over and helped me to get up. I just wanted to say "thank you" to that young man. I can't explain how joyful I was when he came to my aid. It made me feel good he was a good person to come and help me. Thank you for being a good man.
On Feb. 4, when I got to check out at Aldi, I found the lady before paid for my groceries. There are nice people in the world. I would like to thank her and thank her and thank her. Thank you very much.
Why does the city of Cape Girardeau have to hire consulting firms? Do they not have common sense and college education? The streets are horrible, but let's put new sidewalks in front of buildings falling down. I bet even if the sewer rates are lower they'll raise taxes on us because they don't care about the citizens.
School supervisors and principals of elementary schools: You have other rules regarding dress. Please pass a rule for students in freezing temperatures to wear long pants and attire suited for such weather. Jefferson City and other schools have such guidelines.
I was reading in the Missourian about a county wanting to impose a dress code for the courthouse. My son awhile back got in some serious trouble. I told him to look nice when he went before the judge and stand. When he stands to stand straight and look him in the eye and say, "Yes, your honor, and no, your honor." For the first time in a long time he listened to me. My wife and I were there, also dressed nicely and sitting together. The judge asked if we were his parents. The judge has life in his hands, so you should show him some respect.
