Spending rhyme

Patty cake, patty cake taxpayer man,

Obama spends it as fast as he can.

Street repair

I would like to comment to ask the city when they plan on coming back to Nieman Drive to fix the street. They went to fix the sewer, and there's a huge hole in the street. If you're going to repair something, make it like it was. That only makes sense.

Preschool push

When are they going to let children be children? Putting them in pre-K now, and children don't even have a chance to be a child. How many years will they have to be in school and go to work? I don't like it. When I was young we were home until first grade, and we did great. I think children are being pushed into things before they need to be. Thank you.

Gun support

It sure would be nice if most Speak Out callers did their homework instead of showing their ignorance. A caller who bashed Sheriff Jordan's support of gun laws and the Constitution. If you haven't heard of the Second Amendment, you need to get your head out of the sand and get a copy of the Constitution and read it. Clearly, gun rights are in the Constitution and protected by the Second Amendment.

Gun protection

These crazy liberals who were cheering on this cop killer are the same ones who want to take away my right to own firearms. What is wrong with these people? This is the kind of person we need firearms to protect ourselves against.

Drug responsibility

I want to comment about the lady who said her mother had drugs she was trying to get off. I have something I want to say. Anyone who's ever taken any drugs, they are partially responsible for this lady being dead. They need to apologize to the family and make a financial gift to them. After all, if you hadn't taken any of those drugs, there wouldn't be a need for them. There wouldn't be drugs if people didn't buy them. It's supply and demand. My children were right in the middle of the drugs, I call it the John Lennon syndrome.

Penalties

All these teachers taking sexual pictures and sending them to students and putting them on the Internet; what's the matter? Don't they think there's going to be a penalty? I'm afraid to ask. I would like to comment about raising the seat belt fine. I think they can get more money by fining talking on the cellphone while driving. That's not impossible, all you need is a camera in high-traffic intersections where there are always accidents.

Postal Service

Just a comment about the U.S. Postal Service. I have two children and Valentine's Day. My children got Valentine's Day cards in the mail from their grandparents. Just watching their faces as they got their cards. We don't realize what we have until its gone. They got a lot more out of that than a phone call or email or Twitter or whatever. People better appreciate and try to stand up for the Postal Service.

Preschool

President Obama wants to bring preschool education to every youngster. A lot of children and parents can't afford to send their children to preschool. Parents who do send their children to preschool end up far behind the other children. The ones who don't go get way behind. In Illinois, the children for kindergarten are expected to know how to read. The children who don't get a preschool education are so far behind its terrible. I used to be in favor of preschool; it's wrong, its terribly wrong. Kindergarten should be knowing your colors. I think the problem now is education starts too young. Every young person should get preschool and start learning early. There's no way to catch up.

Wasteful

Thank you Joe Sullivan for putting perspective on how wasteful our city council is with the casino on tax payer money. I am now saving on my water bill because I no longer rinse out my recycleables.

Water, sewer

Joe Sullivan, preach on. We need to have our city leaders lower our sewer and water bills. We pay the highest of everyone around. Give us a break.
