Rams players

I want to comment on those NFL players who raised their hands at the football game. That was very distasteful. I think they should apologize. That wasn't needed. They are going through that crap enough as it is, overdoing it. But, they love a camera and they love attention. I think Al Sharpton and his gang are the same way.

Smoke problem

I was in Cape Girardeau this weekend with my grandson and we were out at a restaurant, and he was totally amazed that they had smoking inside of a restaurant. I just wanted to know if the city is thinking about doing something soon to eliminate that.

Police support

I'm calling to ask the people of the United States to support our police departments. They are the only protection we have from looters and anarchists like we are seeing in Ferguson. Parents need to tell their children; teachers need to tell their students; preachers need to tell their members to support our police in any way we can. If the police quit, we are gone. The U.S. is so close to falling apart. The police and our veterans will be our hope to protect us. I am more worried about my country than I was during the Great Depression or World War II or any of the other wars. Please wake up, America. Pray for our country before you go to bed tonight. God bless America.

Football folly

I am very disappointed and ashamed of the Rams and their hands-up gesture, and I am also now very upset that they are not going to do anything about it. The coach should have taken them out of the game at that point. That could have started a riot in that stadium. I am very disappointed in the whole Rams situation right now.

Wreaths and lights

I have a request for the city of Cape Girardeau or whoever takes care of the beautiful wreaths that they have up downtown on Main. When they put those wreaths up each year, the least they could do is check the lights out before they hang them. Because once they hang them up there no one ever touches them to replace the lights and there are so many wreaths that they put up that half the lights are burned out. They are beautiful wreaths and lights, but the lights don't do any good on the wreaths if they are not working.

Hands up

This deal where they are putting their hands up for Michael Brown, somebody should have told Michael Brown to do it. When a cop has a gun drawn on you, stop what you're doing and put your hands up. Otherwise, Michael Brown wouldn't have been shot.

Obama blame

I can't believe what a short memory some people have. I mean, to suggest every child born under Obama will be the first financially strapped generation. If you remember under George Bush there were men standing on the streets that were out of work. I know because during this period of time my husband was also let go from his job. You can't blame a bad economy or future on President Obama. The stock market seems to do pretty well under Obama.

Deer story

What a repulsive cover story and picture of the white buck on the front page. The land owner is just as bad, stating that he wanted the deer killed because people were trespassing on his land to see it. That's why you call law enforcement, conservation agent. The hunter said something about the buck being a genetic mess; looked fat and healthy to me. Shame on you for killing this rare beauty.
