Many area schools have undertaken the task of establishing safe rooms for students in case a tornado hits. Some are struggling to do so, largely because of prohibitive costs, something I hope can be rectified. Some have, incomprehensibly, done nothing. And, even worse than that, some schools, apparently resting their hopes on a gullible public, are claiming they have safe rooms when they don't.
When the president was "heckled" during a speech in San Francisco, I couldn't help but notice the heckler was in camera line with the president so he was seen and the words picked up by Obama's microphone were distinct, full sentences, very understandable. Also, the heckler joined in the applause and continued longer than some of the others. Was that a plant? Very probable.
Now that's one for the books. The Financial Times is reporting that some banks are considering charging you for depositing, that's right, depositing money. Even Simon Legree would be rolling over in his grave.
On Nov. 25, a caller had stated in Speak Out about Bush and crew lying about "weapons of mass destruction." They were just going on what they were told by the intelligence people out in the field. Obama knew first hand that this mess with the health-care plan he is forcing on everyone was a big lie. He was told the website had problems before it launched and did nothing to fix it or delay it. Big difference in the two. Quit blaming Bush for what Obama is doing wrong. Bush is no longer the president of the U.S. Obama is. This country needs to pull together and quit being so divided. Obama is causing that problem. It's his way or the highway.
"Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." Sounds like something a conservative would say. If he would be alive today, he would probably be a Republican.
The person who thinks that, just because Belmont beat North Carolina, that the OVC is just as good as the ACC, really needs to get a clue. It was no doubt a great win for Belmont and the OVC. But on any given night, lesser teams are capable of beating teams they're not supposed to beat. That's why they play the games. One good win by one team early in the season does not elevate an entire conference to elite status.
