Typical weather

NOW WE'RE getting back to typical Midwest weather. It's freezing one day and warm and raining the next day. That's what it ought to be in the Midwest. Forget about worrying about global cooling and global warming. It takes a couple of hundred years to find out if global cooling is happening. But Midwestern weather happens overnight. For the last 10 years we've had pretty good weather. It's been mild all the time. Now we're getting back to the typical Midwest weather where it changes from one day to the next.

Sleepless nights

I READ the article about the barking dog. Some people can sleep through any kind of noise. Nothing bothers them. But other people are sensitive to noise. They take something to help them sleep. It doesn't work on everyone, it doesn't work on me. I sleep lightly and can't do anything about it. If you can't sleep because of a barking dog, the dog's owners shouldn't be able to sleep either. Call them when the dog is barking and tell them what your problem is.

Immune to barking

DOG LOVERS are immune to the barking of their dogs and the nuisance it creates. It's the same scenario when people who smoke can't realize why nonsmokers dislike their smell. Not everyone likes to be kept up at night or awakened early in the morning by the barking of your dog that you love so much.

Taking work home

THIS IS to the person who's pet peeve is teachers who allow students to grade papers. This person said, "Ideally, the teachers would be grading the papers in the evening or during a free hour." They're not paid to take work home. They shouldn't have to spend their evenings doing their work. No one else does. Why should teachers be forced to give up so much of their lives? They don't get paid enough to give up that time.
