Kind person

I would like to thank the gentleman who helped push me out of the snow at Walton Drive and East Jackson Boulevard. I'm glad to see there are still some good samaritans out there.

Cowboy Church

The best part of my Christmas season is going to Cape County Cowboy Church, where you hear more of Jesus.

Mailman cheers

A box of cookies for our mailman in Jackson, but a box of coal for the street department. We went most of the weekend without seeing a city vehicle, or having any roads cleared for our use. But at 5:45 p.m. Saturday night, there was a knock on the door. There stood the mailman with a box and pieces of mail. He waded through 10-inches of snow and dodged ice while enduring high wind and bitter cold. Hats off to you, Mr. Mailman.

Yes, of course you should have to pay for your health care, if your company does not provide it. What more important thing to take care of than your body? You have insurance for your car. Insurance is required for most everything. And it's not fair to other people, if they're covered, and one shows up at the hospital and they're not covered and the taxpayer has to pay for it. I'm not saying there shouldn't be exceptions made for the rules, like for the very poor and the ones who are chronically sick and are very poor. But I'm saying, if you're young, you should be getting your health insurance.

William Street

Regarding options for William Street: I vote no. Big waste of money. Focus on repair of the streets that are in bad shape.

Mizzou defense

The Mizzou Tigers' defense was one of the best defenses in the entire national college system. They were doing very well. And then in the game against Auburn, they switched from their four-man front to a three-man front with more linebackers. It didn't work. Auburn ran all over them. Why didn't they switch back to the four-man front? And who ever came up with this crazy idea of a three-man front?

Unaffordable law

I just got "the letter." Thanks to the (un)-"Affordable Care Act," my premium doubles as of March 2014. I am a 20-something male and have a perfect health history. I think the fine will be cheaper. Another example of leftist politicians lying to us. You've lost me for your party for good, Obama.
