I travel Bloomfield Road almost daily. The problem there is not the road as much as the human error. People drive too fast and are careless. No matter how wide the road is, unless people use some prudence in their driving you will not improve the situation...
Careless drivers
I travel Bloomfield Road almost daily. The problem there is not the road as much as the human error. People drive too fast and are careless. No matter how wide the road is, unless people use some prudence in their driving you will not improve the situation.
City compassion
CAPE Girardeau has retail stores where people from the surrounding region shop. We have medical facilities for the same people. It would be nice if Larry Rice got the building downtown to help these same people when they're out of a job and down on their luck. It would show that the city has compassion.
Troops in Iraq
A recent comment said President Obama was keeping his word by bringing troops home from Iraq. President Bush signed an agreement that will bring all of us home from Iraq by Dec. 31, 2011. President Obama has done nothing to hasten that withdrawal and has even publicly stated that he may keep 30,000 to 50,000 of us here for a yet-to-be-determined amount of time. I'm sworn to protect you, but I'd ask that you take the time to understand our government's policies. Please don't base your support on unfounded rhetoric.
Road base
THE problem with Lexington Avenue is the base of the road, not the surface. It is constantly caving in because the base is not sufficient. It is almost back to the same shape that it was before it was milled.

Abortion challenge
THREE women have filed a lawsuit against Ireland's abortion ban claiming the government violates the human rights of pregnant women by forcing them to travel abroad for abortions and denying them appropriate medical care. If I take the life of a pregnant woman, I will be charged with her death and the death of the human that she was carrying. This is the law here in the U.S. where abortion is legal. Whether it be Ireland, the U.S. or any other place on this planet, there are issues like this that make me question whether we deserve to be at the top of the food chain. If anyone can come up with anything more selfish than what these women are claiming, please don't tell me. I can't handle it.
Talk to God
IN regard to making urgent requests to Santa: If one is so concerned about our great country's problems, may I suggest that you focus your time and energy talking to the one who is very real and will listen: God. Now that would be common sense.
Faking snow
I would like to know who's faking all this snow. Anybody who listens to Al Gore knows we're experiencing global warming. And when it gets warm, you don't have snow. So somebody's faking snowstorms on our news media.
Thoughtless words
I wish the media and comedians would stop destroying Tiger Woods' life. His infidelity is between him and his wife. The thoughtless things people are doing are destroying his life.
