I CAN'T believe that Congress is making such a big deal over the CIA destroying some tapes. Why would the CIA be so inept to give Congress tapes of secret stuff when Congress has got more leaks than a chain-link fence? Yet Congress thinks it ought to have the secrets. Let's get real.
I WAS appalled that Timothy Krajcir was imprisoned on rape charges and released in the late 1970s only to go on to destroy dozens of lives. Why are these people released? Parole is the worst thing we can give them. Even they admit they have a mental problem in this area.
IN READING all the Toybox wishes. My heart goes out to these single mothers. I feel bad for the innocent children. Where are the fathers, and how do they feel when they read them?
ON THE evening of Dec. 11, my husband, who was in uniform, and I were eating dinner at a local restaurant. Our waitress informed us that a couple who wished to remain anonymous had paid for our dinner. This act of kindness brought tears to my eyes. Little did they know, my husband and I were also celebrating our anniversary. By God's grace, our marriage has remained strong through some trials, including a deployment to Iraq. We want to thank this kind couple from the bottom of our hearts. What a blessing you were to us. May God bless you and your family. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you.
SOCIAL SECURITY gave the lowest cost-of-living increase in several years followed by premium increases for Part B. Prescription insurance and the supplement health premiums will go up as of January. Now the interest rates on savings have dropped. I use my interest to pay one-fourth of my health insurance. The government sure loves to punish the elderly.
REGARDING NATHAN Cooper's sentence: Just as we had suspected. A little slap on the wrist. That's politics and the price everyone else has to pay for the privileged ones.
THIS IS a comment about the serial killer. I would like to thank Jimmy Smith for never giving up. Thank you for working so hard on these cases and bringing closure to the unfortunate families. Again, thank you for all the long, hard work you put in.
