Now that the election is over, we must find a way to cut spending and stop going deeper into debt. We need our representatives to make a plan for a balanced budget and then spend less than the government receives in taxes.
Many thanks to those who supported the recent 24 hour swim relay fundraiser by the Gator Swim Team. The Parks and Recreation department ensured that the new bubble was in place and usable for the Saturday event, and Logan's Road House and McDonald's furnished food for our swimmers. The funds raised will be used to purchase some needed swimming and training equipment. Your generosity is appreciated.
All of the 2010 mid-term election results lead to the simple and irrefutable conclusion that President Obama will join the ranks of the unemployed in January 2013.
With every state wondering how to balance budgets, why are our elected officials not making dramatic changes to welfare programs? How many households are there where the mom receives full benefits because she is single while the father also lives in the house? How many people have quit their job because they would loose their food stamps if they worked?
A popular college student hangout in Cape Girardeau is allowing underage drinking. I know 18- and 19-year-olds are good customers, but are these businesses above the law? Don't let those fake ID holders drink alcohol. Do you know how many teens leave this club intoxicated, get in their vehicle and risk their life and others? Please crack down on underage drinking.
IT is necessary for me to drink fresh goat's milk for my health condition. Would it be all right for me to have a pair of goats in my yard since people that want to eat fresh eggs are allowed to have chickens in their yards?
