Great Halloween
I would like to thank all of the local churches that had activities for children. We had tons of fun and appreciate all of your hard work.
On all cars
PUT breathalyzers on all cars when they are manufactured. This is the answer to drunken drivers. Put it on as a safety feature.
On the money
AS usual, Joe Sullivan, your article is so neat. I have eight cats of my own. I think we could share stories back and forth. You're absolutely right on the money. Everything you say is just about true. I could give you a few pointers. Thank you for such a good column.
Double standard
WHEN is life a life? We have sympathy for the family of the recent homicide victims in Cape Girardeau. The suspects are being charged with three murders: the mother, the son and the unborn child, and rightfully so. When someone else takes the life of an unborn child, it is murder. When a mother takes the life of her unborn child, it is a choice. It seems there is a double standard here. The unborn child is a child, no matter who decides to kill it.
Hug a smoker
Talk about a heated debate. The smoking issue has got people up in arms. I keep hearing all these horrible remarks directed toward the smokers. That's downright mean. These people won't live nearly so long. We should be nice to smokers. Their lives will be plagued with disease. They need a hug.

Stop the murders
The death sentence need to be used more, and it should be a painful death. If potential murderers know what the punishment is going to be, maybe there would be fewer murders.
GOP civil war
The GOP seems to be in the midst of a civil war. I don't like it. I blame those in the party I deem fanatics. Fanatics are those who redouble their efforts when they have forgotten their goal.
Bad comic
I do not like the new trial comic, "Fort Knox." It is not funny and not indicative of military post life.
It takes time
Somebody using this forum recently tried linking the lack of flu shots to President Obama's plans for health care reform. Nice try, but next time do some more research. It takes more than a couple of months to manufacture enough of vaccines for a country as populous as the U.S. Flu vaccines are biological entities that need to be incubated. There's currently no known method akin to a rush job.
Mow those leaves
If you can mow your grass as needed, you can mow your leaves as needed. Don't burn. Be safe.
