THIS is to say a very grateful thank you to the kind gentleman at Saint Francis Medical Center who proved how kind and good people in Southeast Missouri are. During the downpour of rain one night recently when I got off duty, this gentleman offered to go after my car for me while I stayed dry under the canopy. Of course he got very wet. I called him George but did not get his real name. Thanks for being so kind to me, George.
I am very concerned about Jackson's consideration of annexing Fruitland. If Jackson does that, the next thing I predict they'll try to annex will be the once-disputed German Rhineland. Then they'll take Austria and Czechoslovakia. After that, they'll invade Poland. And you now the rest of the story.
I am extremely disappointed in the Southeast Missourian sports section. Here you have a team that is ranked third in the OVC and you all choose to print articles about the football team that has a good team every five years. And they receive a huge article almost every day. I was glad to see the Southeast soccer team get a mention, but extremely disappointed the volleyball team has rarely had any articles about them.
THIS country is oversexed. You know what they say, abstinence makes the heart grow fonder.
I understand that Saxony Lutheran is suing the state for legal fees. I hope that Saxony Lutheran teaches the students that suing the state of Missouri is suing their own students and everyone in that state.
THE mayor of Cape Girardeau and John Mehner want retired baby boomers to retire in Cape Girardeau. Why should they? I got my taxes on my car. It's a 2000 and instead of the taxes going down, it went up $2. Every time you get a utility bill they put more taxes on the people.
I just saw in the newspaper where the opening of Bloomfield Road has been delayed to mid-December because of utility work. My goodness, how long have they known they had to do this work? This is a joke. I am so glad that this group doing this short paving project was not in charge of the interstate between Cape Girardeau and St. Louis or we'd still be waiting on that to open.
