WITH all the mismanagement of the swine flu vaccine, I hate to see what the government's going to put out in health insurance for everybody.
I'M thinking of all troops and veterans. Thank you, and may God bless you for fighting for our freedom and keeping America free. I'd also like to thank all the businesses that flew flags on Veterans Day. It's nice to drive down the road and see the flags flying.
I am impressed with William Piercey Sr.'s article, "Mr. Obama: I'm calling you out." I'm an almost 79-year-old senior citizen. If the American people don't stand up now, we're going to lose our country. I'm going to cut the article out and send it to President Obama. I don't know if he'll ever read it, but I certainly hope he does.
THE Breathe Easy Coalition should change its name to Choke the Freedom Out of You Coalition.
THE police who are standing on the street corners for the Veteran's Day parade look so nice in their uniforms. I wanted to thank them for presenting such a nice image on this special day.
AMEN, William Piercey Sr., for your article calling out President Obama. I have friends who voted for President Obama because they truly believed in the man's word. Not only do they feel betrayed but wonder how much they have helped to begin the decline of our country. Not one of them thought their vote was for George Soros, SEIU, ACORN, Van Jones, bowing to dictators, failed bailouts, lobbyists and dozens of czars. They couldn't see past the campaign speeches. I saw a great bumper sticker that sums it up. "Is this the change you voted for?"
MIKE Jensen recently mused that no one will point the finger at the parents for the failure of public school systems. I strongly disagree. Teachers do.
"IS a democracy, such as we know it, the last improvement possible in government? Is it not possible to take a step further towards recognizing and organizing the rights of man? There will never be a really free and enlightened State until the State comes to recognize the individual as a higher and independent power, from which all its own power and authority are derived, and treats him accordingly. I please myself with imagining a State at least which can afford to be just to all men, and to treat the individual with respect as a neighbor; which even would not think it inconsistent with its own repose if a few were to live aloof from it, not meddling with it, nor embraced by it, who fulfilled all the duties of neighbors and fellowmen. A State which bore this kind of fruit, and suffered it to drop off as fast as it ripened, would prepare the way for a still more perfect and glorious State, which also I have imagined, but not yet anywhere seen." -- Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
THANK you, William Piercey Sr., for picking up and carrying this flag of liberty and freedom. To repeat the words of William Wallace in "Braveheart": Freedom!
I don't smoke, but I don't have a problem with smokers. It's their right. Who are we to take that right away? If smoking is banned in public places, then drinking ought to be banned in public places.
