I am writing about the Cape County Jail. I recently spoke with a woman there about my loved one's health problem, and she stated this is a jail not a hospital. Clearly, but those are human beings in your jail and have the right to medical treatment. Recently a woman had a seizure while incarcerated and was not given medical treatment just pulled out of her cell and left on the floor. And things such as a tooth abscess can kill people if left untreated. Come on now! Do better.
This is to let the newspaper know that I thoroughly enjoyed the picture of Serenity and Justice Jones being joyful as they rolled around on the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse lawn. Their smiles were infectious. Thanks to Laura Simon for capturing the delightful sight and sharing with us.
Thank you for your recent editorial emphasizing reconciliation after the election is over. However, I was confused by your last sentence which urged us to move forward together. I thought the whole idea was to move backward. You know, make America great again.
