Beware of Soros

I understand that George Soros is going to fly in 300 lobbyists to Washington to lobby our politicians for amnesty for illegals and open borders. In case you don't know who George Soros is, he's a Greek billionaire who bribes our politicians with campaign donations so they'll vote favorably for his agenda. He usually bribes Democrats, but he tries to get Republicans as well. He is a left-wing radical who buys whatever he wants.

Monsanto story

The Missourian printed a front-page article about Monsanto poisoning the people of Argentina. Does the editorial board really believe that? Monsanto is a small player in the agricultural chemical business, and Monsanto wants to help people, not hurt people. Also, Missouri has a tax base with Monsanto and appreciates their innovations. Why would you attack Monsanto on the front page?

Obamacare reaction

You can always tell how successful a federal program will be by how loud the opposition to it is. In the case of Obamacare, it looks like we will have a resounding success on our hands. The same noise and threats were made when Social Security was enacted. Now try and take it away, and in the case of millions of our citizens, try and live without it.

Establishment

The Washington establishment has proved once again how dysfunctional it truly is. Congress cannot work together, the president cannot work with Congress. Nothing has changed in the past five years. If anything, today is worse. There are no winners here, only losers -- the American citizens.

Keep complaining

If people oppose the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act Law, which is its true name, there is no such thing as an "Obamacare" Law, they should continue to complain. Nothing gets changed if people sit on their hands and accept the unacceptable.

School salaries

With the recent article about SEMO professors and salaries compared to other universities, It would be nice to see an article about Cape Public Schools salaries, administration and teachers, compared to other high schools with the same size and demographics.

Ridiculous statement

A recent caller stated that if we believe Obamacare is so bad, then we should just sit quietly by as it falls apart. What a ridiculous thing to say. If you know your child is going to misbehave, do you wait until they misbehave? No, you instruct them proactively. If you know a crime is going to be committed, do you sit idly by and wait? No, you call the police.
