Meditation and fasting
MEDITATION AND fasting are tools, coupled with prayer, that people of faith utilize. In this way we invite the Holy Spirit to enter and give guidance to every aspect of our lives. Meditation without faith exposes you as an empty vessel to the master of deception (Satan) who will jump at the opportunity to enter and infuse pure evil in one's spirit.
CAPE GIRARDEAU police do not take noise-ordinance violations seriously. I spent the last two years attempting to curb these audio attacks, and the police were clearly uninterested. If you are being harassed by this audio terrorism, please don't sit by hoping it will stop. It won't. The sense of entitlement exhibited by these people trumps all common decency and respect for others. I have the right to peace and quiet in my own car and home. We all deserve peace and quiet.
IN REGARD to the so-called Jackson Riverfront: I visited the site and found a place of business known as Sidetracks with nice owners who make you feel at home. They have good food and fun entertainment. As a Jackson resident, I would recommend visiting this restaurant.
I WOULD like to thank the lovely lady named Brittney Lee who helped me after I tripped off the sidewalk as I was walking down Broadway the other night. Thank you for assisting me.
OH, LORD, please save me from my evil government who expects me to work, provide for my family, support our troops in a time of war and hold ignorant people accountable for their actions. I have neither the aptitude nor the ability to accept responsibility for my own actions or ineptitude. Thank goodness for the Democrats, who will protect me and cradle me in the security and comfort of others' tax dollars. Thank goodness for using others' tax dollars for a River Campus while continuing to raise tuition costs. Thank goodness I'm being sarcastic.
I WOULD like to know what kind of mother would let a child sleep on a board? I could never imagine letting my 15-month-old son sleep on a board. It makes us wonder what kind of people are raising children these days.
I USED to live on Bellevue Street at Frederick Street right by the Cape Girardeau Post Office. For those of you who think that is a good part of town, you are wrong. I lived in that neighborhood for 10 years. During that time my home was broken into on four occasions and our cars were broken into. My purse was taken twice during these break-ins. A window was kicked in. One night we heard a gunshot outside and smelled gunsmoke inside our home. Our neighbors were drunks, and we once found their friends passed out on their porch at noon. We had to compete with the postal workers for a place to park on the street. Now I live on the south side of Cape. Yes, I can buy crack right around the corner from my home, day or night. But my home hasn't been broken into, nor have my cars been tampered with since moving here two years ago. I am safer on the south side than I was in the "good part of Town."
HOW ABOUT this for all of you who feel a need to force a pledge on school children: "I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, and to the Republic that it established; one Nation out of many Peoples, with Liberty and Justice for all.
WHO CAN get a casino campaign going here in Cape Girardeau? We are a perfect hub for this. We could grow tremendously, and the city would get lots of needed money.
THE CURRENT administration and the moral majority are doing their best to take birth control away from poor women in the name of pro-life. By knocking down Planned Parenthood at every turn, women across the country and especially in rural areas like southern Missouri are losing the benefits of basic health care that are desperately needed. The Republican message: You have to have the babies, but don't expect help feeding them.
DOES ANYONE but me ever wonder why most Americans seem to expect someone to take care of us? Children and severely ill people need care and compassion, but do we need to support everyone who either doesn't apply himself during school or isn't careful about whom he mates with? I am not a heartless person, and I believe in charity. But grow up, get a job, be responsible and quit spending all of my tax money supporting people who are not even trying.
