Term limits needed; Stop complaining; No need to complain; Not in our area

Term limits needed

I THINK school board members should have term limits. It's ridiculous that people get on the board and stay for 20 years when they don't even have kids in the school system anymore. It's a matter of prestige to them, and they're not doing our community any good by being in there that long. I don't see any progress being made when people have been on the board so long. The board needs new ideas, new objectives, new opinions.

Stop complaining

IT DOESN'T soak into some people's head to be thankful instead of complaining all the time. Be thankful you live in America, and help take care of our country in every way possible. Stop littering. Work for a living. Let's help one another. And for goodness sake, stop vandalizing cemeteries and churches. God will bless you.

No need to complain

I READ Speak Out every day, and there seems to be quite a few comments about a lack of respect for others. People blow their noses in restaurants. Shoppers are rude to salespeople. People blow leaves into the street and other yards. Yet there are so many comments complaining about how sad it is that people say "Happy holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas." This also is a respect issue. Like it or not, the world is populated with many people who are not Christian. Whether or not you agree with other people's religious beliefs, it's a nice thing to respect them. Why complain? It's so pointless.

Not in our area

DR. MICHAEL Seabaugh may think his column is professional, funny and helpful, but in reality it is a waste of space. Maybe people in his part of the world have these problems, but very few of us in mid-America have such inflated opinions of ourselves.
