No urban hunting
ARE we thinking clearly about the deer issue? A scientific approach would insist on a population density survey to determine if carrying capacity has been exceeded. A moral approach would insist on kindness and compassion, rather than violence. This controversy all started with one complainer disgruntled about deer eating her plants. Then hunters realized this would be easy, shooting animals that are used to people. If a valid survey does show overpopulation, many less extreme measures, such as deterrents and contraception, should be considered before jumping to the extreme of urban bow hunting.
Dress code needed
I live close to a public school, and how some of these children are dressed, both girls and boys, I cannot believe that there are parents who would be against the proposed dress code. Some of what these young ladies wear is totally inappropriate, and it makes me sick to think there are mothers out there that think it's OK for their daughters to dress as if they work in a club. These young men need to pull up their pants. I am so thankful I don't have children that I have to worry about being influenced by this type of "fashion."

Right to wear jeans
CAPE Girardeau's school administration apparently failed to understand that along with freedom of speech, assembly, religion, press and petition, all guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights, there is another unwritten right that is considered equal if not superior to the others by the citizenry of this great country. It is the right to wear bluejeans.
Stop sign
PLEASE, Cape Girardeau police, start watching the stop sign at Lisa Drive and Grandview Drive. Someone is going to be hurt badly or die. No one is obeying the stop sign there, not even the school buses. Enough revenue for a new police car can be had at this one corner. Some don't even slow down, let alone stop.
Jackson annexation
PLEASE don't encourage people to vote one way or another on the Jackson annexation unless you have your facts straight. You do more harm than good and only show your ignorance.
Cigarette taxes
YOU know, it's an excellent idea to cut income tax for low-income earners, but for crying out loud, if you don't leave those cigarette people alone they are all going to move to China and you won't get any taxes at all.
