At the Thursday prayer breakfast, the pastor of Lynwood Baptist Church told a story about past Christian revivals in the United States. And he knew the dates and the times when these Christian revivals swept across our nation. Well, it's been 100 years now since that's happened. It's time for a new Christian revival, and we need somebody to lead. It's time.
People of Cape Girardeau, please take heed. Unfortunately, this is sort of a warning. Many of you already know this. As I've driven around Cape in the past few months, I'm just amazed at the way people drive. It's much worse than it used to be. I've seen some accidents and some near accidents. Used to be, people would think nothing of continuing to go through a light when it was yellow. Now, apparently it's the same thing for red. If your light turns green, my advice to you is to count to three slowly before you proceed into the intersection, or you're going to get hit. The only solution for this is for the police to get out there and stop people from running through lights when they're yellow and red.
I requested that Santa Claus return the Ben Franklin statue that was in front of the Franklin School for many years. I didn't get my wish. So would somebody please find Ben Franklin and bring him back so he can watch Franklin School?
It would be a nice gesture on SEMO University's part to donate some of the old seats out of the Show Me Center to the grandstand at Capaha Park.
Greedy city council considering raising prices at Cape Splash. Also trash collection, which they should be cutting cost since they recycle now and get paid for part of the customers' waste. Do these people ever think of what they can make from doing volume?
Although it's true as true can be, for Cape's mayor to proclaim 2015 will be a prosperous year is considered heresy among the local establishment because Barack Obama is still president, and it is a categorical imperative among his opponents that there can be no improvement at any level of government while he is still president.
We need to get the smoking ban for the city of Cape back on the ballot. Look how many times we voted for the casino.
Missouri legislator wants to raise the speed limit from 70 to 75. Not only will it get more people killed and injuries, it will also use more gas. Also what damage does it do to the cars and tires, which will also increase the cost?
