THERE is absolutely nothing that would indicate you cannot start a registered voter petition drive to (assuming enough signatures are contained on the petition) have the voters of Cape Girardeau decide a local issue if a majority of the members of the city council agree with the substance of said petition...

THERE is absolutely nothing that would indicate you cannot start a registered voter petition drive to (assuming enough signatures are contained on the petition) have the voters of Cape Girardeau decide a local issue if a majority of the members of the city council agree with the substance of said petition.
Media bias
WHEN President Bush was in office, the news media raised Cain every time gas went up a penny. All you heard was how Bush and his oil cronies were getting rich off of the American people. Funny thing is, gas is just as high now and predicted to get even higher, yet not a peep out of the media. More proof of the left wing bias in the media.

Birds and smoke
THE reason all the birds are dying is because of the secondhand smoke from all the people who can no longer smoke inside public facilities. Why aren't the animal rights people on this one?
Rhetoric problem
IT'S easy, but incorrect, to prematurely jump to the conclusion that an act of violence such as what occurred in Tucson, Ariz., was precipitated by someone who is insane. It makes us all feel better about ourselves to assume the alleged shooter is somehow not one of us. However, statistics show that the rate of violence carried out by the truly psychotic (i.e., schizophrenics) is no greater than that of the general population as a whole. Of course in a political context, it makes sense for the Wall Street Journal and others on the right to try to convince us that this act came from someone who is not in touch with the real world and therefore is not susceptible to being influenced by the ongoing anti-government rhetoric of the rabid right wing.
