Sousa concert was first rate

To the editor:

There was only one regret to take away from the "Stars, Stripes and Sousa" concert at Academic Hall Saturday night. The room should have been standing room only.

It was a simultaneous step back in musical time and a big stride forward by the Southeast Missouri State University's music department. Professional sounds came from every section of the university's symphonic wind ensemble.

You don't need a music critic to tell you when you've been royally entertained.
