It was a year ago today that the Southeast Missouri Soccer Community lost a dear friend with the passing of Joe David Frank. Like myself, Joe did not play soccer growing up, but learned the sport while coaching his children in youth soccer. From there, Joe became a fixture at games as a referee at high school and youth soccer games. I remember Joe as a man who loved the game, but more important, he loved the players. We are fortunate to have men and women like Joe David, who take on the role of referee. They play a crucial role in making youth sports the great teaching tool that it is. So today, I take time to honor Joe David and send my prayers for Joe and for his family.
Respectfully,
Brad Wittenborn, Cape Girardeau
