Thanks to a recent federal court decision, Americans will never know who served on Dick Cheney's energy task force. We don't know who served, but we now have a better idea of what was discussed. The meeting was a rousing success. Energy prices are soaring. The $25 million donated to the first Bush election by the energy industry has paid huge dividends. Who pays? You, Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe. Whoops! There goes the tax cut. Hold on for the bumpy ride. With the energy companies already earning obscene profits, do you believe these greed rascals are going to be satisfied?

Former Republican president Dwight Eisenhower warned us of the military-industrial complex. He didn't mention jumping in bed with wealthy political contributors. Give up, poor and middle-class Americans. Does anyone not believe the huge conglomerates now own us?

What is the current government doing? It has hung a sing on the office door: Government for sale. Poor and middle-class Americans need no apply. The reactionaries know they can always divert the middle class' attention by trotting out the three Gs: God, guns and gays. What can the average American do? We can always listen to Rush Limbaugh and pray.
