The Southeast Missourian's annual Random Acts of Kindness observance reminds one of how good people are.
So often the news is bad. Gas prices are high. Children are abused. Accidents claim lives.
But Random Acts of Kindness Day -- celebrated on Mother's Day in Southeast Missouri -- is a time to think about all the wonderful things people do.
They cook meals for the sick. They complete yard work for the elderly. They take strangers under their wings.
It's no accident Random Acts of Kindness Day is observed here on Mother's Day. Mothers are honored for their tender caring that day, and we want to honor moms and others who show the same attributes.
We are asking readers to share the acts of kindness that have touched their lives. To participate, call Mark Bliss, Random Acts of Kindness coordinator this year, at 335-6611, extension 123, or e-mail him at mbliss@semissourian.com.
It's not too late for kind people to be recognized.
