To the editor:Basil Harrison should welcome a senior housing development across from his property. Most seniors keep their yards and surrounding area clean. What would it matter if some of them received help paying their rent? Getting help from the housing department doesn't make them less likely to keep their home clean. I'd much rather my property be across the road from a senior housing development than several single housing units where you get what you get once the homes are sold or rented. I enjoy living close to the seniors around me, They are observant and know if someone belongs in the neighborhood. If not for the watchful eye of a couple of my senior neighbors, I'd have had my lawnmower stolen. A group of older adults living across from Mr. Harrison's property should be the least of his worries.
