Another Southeast Missouri State team has brought home the hardware in a simulation competition.

In recent weeks, the university's cybersecurity team won another state title. More recently, four members of the Southeast Missouri State University MBA Case team won the Show-Me MBA Case Competition, beating two teams from Washington University and three teams from Mizzou. Southeast took home a $5,000 prize.

According to Southeast Missourian reporter Ben Kleine, Case competition involves taking a business problem and working out the solutions and implementation within five hours. This competition's case was to improve the work environment of Lockton Companies. The Southeast team offered a tiered set of solutions in both the short-, medium- and long-term.

Dr. Willie Redmond, economics professor, is the team's coach. He said the company was keen on using some of the ideas that were presented and was also interested in obtaining resumes from most of the contest participants.

Team members include Bobbie Dampier, Brett Kazanjian, Harman Malhi and Kayla Ray. The team represented the university well. Their performance speaks highly of them and the university's business school.

Southeast's DECA team also won first prize Feb. 24 at the 2017 Collegiate DECA State Career Development Conference and Competition in Lake Ozark, Missouri. DECA is a similar competition involving marketing and public relations problems.

Congratulations to all of these students, and to the university for preparing students for the working world.
