In response to the letter, "Street work affects businesses": The wasteful, unnecessary construction for Southeast Missouri State University's pointless new entrance is definitely hurting businesses. Cafe Azu has already been forced to shut down because of it. This is a real shame, as it was a great place to eat. Before the construction started the restaurant's owner had even talked of expanding. I hope this drastic result will not have to be felt by any other businesses being affected by SEMO's wasteful construction fiasco. If SEMO can waste millions on an unnecessary waterfall entrance, then it can afford to reimburse any business that has lost revenue. It's the university's fault.
