Southeast Missouri State University continues to nurture its status as an attractive institution for students.
Once again, the university announced an increase in its student enrollment for the spring semester, which stood at 10,858, up from 10,656 last spring.
One major reason for the increase in popularity of the university is the advancement of dual course credits, which are advanced classes in high school for which students can attain college credits.
This concept helps students attain college credits well before setting foot on a campus and helps them complete a degree in four years. The dual credit enrollment continues to rise.
In the fall, Southeast for the first time broke the threshold of 12,000 students. University enrollment is always higher in the fall than in the spring.
The numbers are encouraging, and they demonstrate that the university is moving in a positive direction and filling the needs of students in our region and well beyond.
Congratulations to the hardworking people at the campus who make it all happen.
