The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks men's basketball team received good news at the Ohio Valley Conference's annual media day. The team was the preseason pick tied for first in the West Division. The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks men's basketball team received good news at the Ohio Valley Conference's annual media day. The team was the preseason pick tied for first in the West Division. The women's team was ranked fifth, which is a significant improvement for the squad that ranked last in the 2012 preseason poll.

Both teams will play their final exhibition games at the Show Me Center Saturday night. The women play Maryville University at 5:30 p.m. The men will play Ouchita Baptist at 8 p.m.

The men's team will start the regular season on the road at Saint Louis University Nov. 8. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on local radio (ESPN 92.9 FM) and is scheduled to be televised on Fox Sports Midwest. The first home contest is at 8 p.m. Nov. 11 against Central Baptist.

The women play at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Alabama A&M. The team's first home game is Nov. 11, when the team will face Bradley. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
