It's been a tough start to the season for the Southeast Missouri State University football team. The Redhawks are coming off a 45-7 loss in their season opener at Southeastern Louisiana and a 31-13 loss at Ole Miss.
After a bye week, the team is set to hold its first "home game" on Saturday -- though the contest won't be played at Houck Stadium.
The Redhawks will face SIU in the first football game to be played at Busch Stadium. Billed as the College Classic, the stadium's inaugural football game will be an exciting event.
Tickets for the 1 p.m. contest may be purchased online at cardinals.com/football. Group tickets for 25 or more may be purchased by calling 314-345-9500.
Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Thanks to top sponsor SoutheastHEALTH for their support, and congratulations to Southeast for securing the first football game at the stadium.
There is never a shortage of red at Busch Stadium, but we hope that includes a lot of Redhawks gear and many fans Saturday.
We wish Southeast all the best as it looks to capture its first victory of the season.
The first home game in Cape Girardeau will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 against UT Martin. It's also Family Weekend. Tickets may be purchased by calling 651-2113, online at gosoutheast.com or at the Redhawks Ticket Office located at 1221 Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
