Commercial flight boardings at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport have increased over the past two months, a development airport officials were pleased to see.
Boardings for flights to St. Louis increased 24 percent in November and 17 percent in December.
The airport wants passengers headed to various destinations to board here to catch connecting flights out of St. Louis rather than driving or using other transportation to get there.
That's a pretty good idea for anyone who doesn't want to be burdened with long security lines in St. Louis. Passengers who go through security here aren't subjected to further checks in St. Louis if they make connecting flights in the same secure areas where they arrive. This is a big incentive to fly from Cape Girardeau.
