The Boy Scouts of America is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.4 million youth members and close to 1 million adult volunteers.

The goal of the Boys Scouts of America is to train youths in citizenship, character development and self-dependence through actively participating in a wide host of outdoor activities. Educational programs are also provided.

It is time that the volunteers in the Cape Girardeau area receive high praise and recognition for their time and talents that are given to the Scouting programs. Roles and participation by volunteers vary from the local level to the national level. These volunteers cumulatively work together to make the orgaziations successful. I want to publicly say "thank you" to all of the helpers who have made a difference in my life and in my growth as an active future citizen in civic arenas in the Cape Girardau area.

Yours truly,

KYLE BROWN, Cape Girardeau
