What an inspiration Robin White must be for her family, friends and acquaintances.

The Jackson woman is 34 years old and raising 17- and 13-year-old daughters.

She also has multiple sclerosis, a debilitating, unpredictable disease with a different symptom every day. On good days, she used a cane. On bad days, a wheelchair. And on the worst days, she's completely immobile.

But White doesn't let that devastating situation keep her from being an active mom and a medical activist. Her husband and daughters say they're in awe of her. They wrote her winning nomination for the Mother of the Year award given by the Gateway Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In addition, White raised more than $45,000 by recruiting walkers for the Southeast Missouri MS Walk 2000 -- nearly triple her goal of $16,000.

It's easy to see why she was successful in recruiting. Which able-bodied person could say no to helping a woman so inspiring in overcoming her health problem?
