To the editor:
Most news catches the eye whether on television or in the paper. Often, we have Iraq for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If Iraq was even heard of in early years, it sure slipped by me.
A lighter and certainly more interesting side of news today is the progress that continues to grow concerning the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus that is to be ready by 2007. Much appreciated is the generous and caring heart of Gov. Matt Blunt, who signed a bill giving colleges and universities more money.
Under construction and so welcome is the convocation center to be added to the River Campus arts school. Present plans include a large room to accommodate meetings, receptions and the display of student exhibits. In order to make the campus complete, there will be a dining area and restrooms to accommodate the public.
Don't expect time to stop moving, because it won't. Students continue to move with it. The wish for the River Campus is now a dream come true. It was a long road to travel, but it led to victory. Be grateful and happy. I sure am. I bet you are too.
