To the Editor: Since this is Gay Pride Week, and there are all kinds of activities promoting homosexuality, including the speaker appearing at our local university, I think it should be balanced by another view. The program is not about "gay-bashing" but a fact-filled Biblical look at the issue of "gay rights." It does not encourage nor condone "hate mongering" or bigotry. The report will include interviews with people who support gay rights and believe homosexuality is a natural and healthy expression of sexuality, and with doctors, researchers, and former homosexuals who support the Biblical views of homosexuality as an abomination in the sight of God.

I would also like to encourage people to read Pat Buchanan's column in Thursday's Southeast Missourian. It was certainly an eye opener, and if we really have our children's interest at heart, those statistics ought to be taught in our schools, as to what is in store for those who choose "alternate life styles." These could be stressed, and even leave out the religious and moral principles, and ask, "Is this really the best for your life?"
